CM Designs is the inventor of the popular quilting tool the Add-a-Quarter™. Even with the success of the Add-a-Quarter at quilting retailers, it didn’t have a website of its own. CM Designs was looking to not only create a website for direct sales, but establish a brand that would act as an umbrella for new and existing products.

Before the website could be created, Crytech needed to help CM Designs construct a brand that would help customers identify all of their products as part of one company. Taking some feedback from their target market, we were able to create a brand for CM Designs that was simple yet easily recognizable. This brand would be the start of the website design and act as the focal anchor for every page.

With the logo created, we started with just a basic color palette and ended up with something that would easily attract any quilter to the site. We knew this site was ultimately a shopping cart site, but didn’t want customers to feel like it was. One feature to help with this was the ability to download free quilt patterns. These patterns are complete with instructions and are provided in PDF to ensure the measurements are correct. The site also features resources and tutorials on CM Design’s products to help customers maximize their product experiences.

addaquarter To help showcase CM Design’s published books and patterns, we recommended a quilt photo gallery and featured products section as a main feature off the homepage. As we built the shopping cart around the site, we included as many images as possible for each product. Each product is tied to the order form which calculates the order total along with shipping and any taxes. Once an order is submitted, it’s processed through CM Design’s merchant account and is prepped for delivery. This process is done completely securely using our secure hosting with an attached secure server certificate.

When orders started flowing in and the contact form was being used, Crytech started adapting the site based off of customer suggestions and our own user experience. As a result, another order form was created specifically for resellers ordering products. With this form in place, CM Designs established several new relationships with resellers all over the world. As new products are created and books are published, the CM Designs' website continues to grow a quarter inch at a time.
