Chiari People is a world wide support group for people stricken with the disease Chiari Malformation. While Chiari is a quite common disease, it is almost always misdiagnosed. The organization’s main goals are to educate local and medical communities while providing support and answers to anyone struggling with this disease.
Education is crucial in fighting Chiari Malformation. Through various traditional marketing, support groups, and educational events; Chiari People has been sought after even at the hospital level. Chiari People has grown to the point they consulted with Crytech for help. Crytech was able to bring Chiari People's goals online to reach a whole new audience while streamlining fundamental tasks to increase research and time with patients.
Chiari
People needed a new brand that would convey themselves as a support group
and as a professional resource online so visitors and existing users would
feel right at home with the organization. Crytech chose specific colors
and introduced the “Providing a Helping Hand” tagline to explain their mission
statement in a subtle context. With a new brand and organized marketing
effort, Crytech began creating a new website to further extend their reach.
The Chiari People website was organized around their existing print newsletters which were converted to a digital format. Using Crytech’s own Marx Marketing product, users could now easily signup online to receive the Chiari People newsletter or easily view them online in the newsletter archive. New visitors to the site would find basic information about the Chiari disease and treatment options while returning visitors would find new research and support articles.
The Chiari People website went live with an overwhelming number of visits. From the traffic alone, the Chiari website was the number one search result for anyone searching for Chiari Malformation from Google. Within a month's time, their mailing list had grew to a record number of subscribers which exceeded the initial marketing goal.

Chiari People was formed in 2004 to address the painful and debilitating structural conditions of Chiari 1 Malformation while providing support and encouragement to help people stricken with Chiari achieve their full potential. Many doctors and most nurses have yet to hear of Chiari. We hope to help educate our community about Chiari Malformation and the devastating disorders associated with it.
“I am so very grateful for all of your skills, talent, time, motivation, and kindness.”— Julie Carter, Founder, Chiari People.
