Design, Development, and Marketing for today's Internet

It’s Our Home Too...

Type: Financial Institution | Launch Date: May 7, 2008

As First Interstate Bank continues to grow and introduce new products and services, they required a website that could grow and adapt as they do. With an emphasis on customers’ security, Crytech was able to provide a website designed around First Interstate’s target market while functioning as an extension of their brand and values. The new First Interstate Bank redesign was completely rebuilt from the ground up and became the biggest release in First Interstate history.

The website design was updated based on existing marketing campaigns while still maintaining similarities with the old design specifically with technology placement. First Interstate didn’t want customers to be overwhelmed with a new site design. The navigation was completely reorganized based on current customer trends. Customers could easily find the most heavily hit pages while being able to jump to other products with a minimal amount of clicks.

With phishing and customers’ security in mind, Crytech developed First Interstate’s remote login within proprietary Anti-phishing technology built around Adobe® Flash®. In addition to the entire site being protected with a secure server certificate and extended validation, customers are assured their information is protected as they login to any of their products from the homepage.

First Interstate BankThe entire First Interstate website is tied into their location information. At anytime, customers can select their location to view branch and location information which is retained every time they view the site. This location information is also integrated with Google Maps technology to provide customers a convenient method for getting directions to locations, drive-ups, and ATMs.

Crytech saw a greater demand for support information based of customer trends from the previous website. As a result, a new Help and Support Center and Security center were introduced with the new website. Customers can easily view and search support information to answer the most common questions with products and services. A secure contact form was also created to provide a safe method of communication for customers needing to contact any specific department or branch.

The new First Interstate Bank website was built on the updated XHTML code base and is certified by the W3C for web accessibility. With this new web standard in place, customers not only find the new website, but can view it on any piece of technology no matter what type of computer, operating system, or browser. Because of the popularity with new mobile technology, a special .mobi site was also created for special access on mobile devices.

The First Interstate Bank website went live May 2008 and has received an overwhelming response from customers and employees. From the reports generated and the marketing objectives from First Interstate, after only 1 month of going live, the website generated the most traffic it had ever seen making it the most successful website to date.

First Interstate Bank is a multi-state, $6 billion banking organization headquartered in Billings, Montana. First Interstate has evolved since 1968 from a single bank in Sheridan, Wyoming to operating over 50 branches and over 100 ATMs in Montana and Wyoming.

“Working with Crytech was a great experience. They listened to our needs and provided us with a website that is beyond what we could have expected. Their knowledge of the Internet and the industry is invaluable and makes them our one and only source for all of our web needs.”

Cindy Lyle, VP Marketing, First Interstate Bank.
